Film for Thought: An Education

This movie was excellent.  I felt the acting was authentic and worthy of award.  Without spoiling the movie, a brief gist of the film deals with a young girl’s struggle with her coming of age – she’s obviously bright, but veers off course as she gets influenced by an older man.  The scenery and decor is also beautiful as it is set in the 1960’s in London.

This isn’t a film for mainstream movie junkies who are just willing to catch a glimpse of Megan Fox in Transformers, although, for whatever reason, I watch those movies in good spirit as well.   This is definitely more of an independent, thought-provoking film, which requires you to transcend your beliefs a bit, and get lost in a fairytale of a romance and posh lifestyle followed by a float back down to reality.

Again, I think the quality performance from the actors is what truly justified the brilliance of the movie.  Cheers to the entire cast!  If the main guy was played by an obvious heartthrob such as Brad Pitt or Johnny Depp, I think the quizzical pity you feel for the girl’s hasty decisions would be altered.  It is because the main actor was portrayed by someone who could pass as an average but charming Joe that the story becomes believable and you empathize with the young foolhardy girl.  I'm not much on chick-flicks that center around bridal dresses or less sleep in Seattle.. but if you're looking for a good romance/drama, I'd recommend this movie with a warm cup of tea and biscuits.

Sour - Hibi no Neiro

Clever x Clever = Awesome. Instant admiration for the work put into this.  And it’s so creative and cute!  The heart segment is the best.  Enjoy!

iDo but iDon't

The wait is over.  It’s here.  They’re really pushing the Droid, this ad is kind of cool.

I’m not about to convert, though, I’m still an avid (avid is an understatement) iPhone user but that doesn’t mean I’m a Droid-hater.  If it’s for the greater good of technological advancement I’m all for it.  I’d like to see one in person very soon.

The Future of Laptops?

Here is a look at concept design of the "Rolltop" from Orkin Design. The idea is pretty sexy, not sure how reliable/functional it would be if they developed this.  But I'm all about going beyond the norm, and pushing the envelope.
