This is how my Thanksgivings usually look like.  We do the traditional turkey and goodies, we walk to the beach, we hit up a movie, play games, and I get to spend time with my cousins that I only get to see once a year.  This year I'm changing it up a little bit, but I do miss my family!

Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours!

This 5-year old girl can *insert basketball cheer here*  "dribble, shoot, shoot, and take that ball to the hoop, hoop"!

I like how she picks her favorite college.  Who knows, 20 years from now she may be a WNBA superstar?

As we approach Thanksgiving, let's take time to not only be grateful for the people we love and what we are blessed with, let's also remember to give to those who may not be as fortunate as we are.

Non-profit organizations that help the homeless often host Thanksgiving meals and can often use a helping hand.  You can always help volunteer this Thanksgiving at your local community shelter or mission.   Or why just limit it to Thanksgiving?  Donations are welcome throughout the year whether it is monetary, food, or even used clothing and goods.

    Help Feed America:  http://feedingamerica.org/

Or research some of the local organizations in your area to find out how you can help give to others.

Favorite play tonight. Stop, pivot, turn around fadeaway jumper over two defenders. If you watch the replay (wish I had video to share), the rest of the floor stops for those split few seconds. They all stand there just staring at what Trev's about to pull off. My man. Making contributions where it counts. Lakers with another win destroy the Nets tonight.

ATTN: Kanye, Ludacris, and Linkin Park fans-  Pick up their new albums/purchase on iTunes, just dropped today.

And finally, no they don't have a new CD (yet), but news on the wire, No Doubt is starting up their 2009 tour, which is great because if you haven't seen No Doubt or Gwen in concert, you're missing out, she kicks ass on stage.  So do Ye and LP.

So this week we can expect some fresh albums to drop, one I've been particularly excited for is Kanye West's 808's and Heartbreak.  While the beats are not your traditional Kanye-esque beats, you will find this to be a refreshing direction for the theme of this particular album.  I like to see that he's versatile and not afraid to incorporate new influences.    Envision theatrical staging, explosive light pentetrating the dark, and pure heart-felt lyrics.  Critics will question his use of the synthesizer and melodic concentration, but I am all for it.  If an artist can convey his emotions and expand his style based on his own experiences and make it work, you're nothing short of success.  Of course, his older albums were phenomenal in their own rights.  I'm just saying this new one has a totally different vibe and worth giving a chance.  Eerily, I think I can relate to some of the tracks and that's what gets me into it even more, besides the fact that I've always been on Kanye's jock.  Kudos to Ye for his recent wins at the AMA's for Favorite Male Rap/Hip-Hop Artist and Favorite Rap/Hip-Hop Album for Graduation.

Robocop demonstrates something totally out of left field from his customary realm. But he still adds a touch of humor and speaks with emphasis.

When asked what I want to see at the LA Autoshow, my initial response was the Lamborghini Gallardo, an Aston Martin, or an Audi R8.

Then alph reeled me back down to earth.  "Can you try something practical?"

My point is, why go to a car show if you want to see something practical when you can envision yourself rolling down the street in something fly? Haha.

But OK, if you want practical...

This would be my pick.  With some better wheels though.

I'm not high maintenance at all.  Although, I'm saving up room in the garage for that R8. One day.

I haven't evaluated this website fully yet, but it appears to be a way to make your runs/activities count.  You log in your miles, they add it all up monthly, and whatever cause you've chosen, companies will transfer funds to the cause.

If you're a dedicated runner or cyclist, it might be worth looking into.  Check it out at: http://www.plus3network.com/

Yesterday, I was complaining to Jasmine about how so many of the current drinking water sold today are laced with that disgusting artificial wanna-be fake sugar.  Anything with splenda, sucralose, whatever I simply will not consume. I felt duped recently, because I had bought a refreshing light apple juice cocktail, and when I came home to enjoy it, I spat it out.  I realized I missed the microscopic print on the label, "with sucralose".  Ugh, such a disappointment.

Jasmine poked at her own thoughts, and asked me if I ever drank this refreshing sparkling water back in the day that had a hint of fruit.   A hint of fruit?  And then it hit me, like when you try and solve a math problem for hours and the numbers start making sense out of the blue. Yes, Clearly Canadian!

There was a period in the 90's when Clearly Canadian was like the best drink ever.  My family doesn't preach soda around the house, simply because my dad's one of those health-conscious people who shuns extra unwanted calories.  But the two exceptions he allowed while I was growing up, was Perrier and Clearly Canadian.  I could reason with him that they are sparkling water which clearly does not qualify as a soda.  I remember that crisp cool refreshing bite after your first sip - the oh-so-fruity goodness (without that artificial nasty aftertaste a lot of the current fancy fruity waters leave behind on your palate).  But for whatever reason, maybe they stopped selling it locally, I have not enjoyed a Clearly Canadian in 10 years.

So after doing a little research today, I discovered it still exists!  Hooray!   And they also give back!  For every Clearly Canadian beverage sold, a percentage of their funds are donated to help communities who need safe water supplies through projects to create needed wells and water sources.  http://www.clearly.ca/files/global-water.php

My quest to find a bottle nearby begins.

This is what I like about Ye - he is an excellent self-marketer as well as a skilled producer/rapper.   He is recently quoted as likening himself to the great Michael Jordan, just in the music realm.  Read more:  http://music.yahoo.com/read/news/15348921

And I've truly fallen victim to all of the above...you guys know he's on my A-list.  Critics will pick on him for the things he says, but I think it peaks more public interest and I actually find cockiness in men extremely sexy.  Well, as long as they've got the talent to back it up. So you go Kanye, go on with your MVP self.  By the way, his album drops on November 24th.

And here's a list of all the new tracks:

    'Welcome to Heartbreak'
    'Heartless'
    'Love Lockdown'
    'Robocop'
    'Anyway'
    'Streetlights'
    'Say You Will'
    'Real Bad News'
    'Amazing' [ft. Young Jeezy]
'Tell Everybody That You Know' [ft. Lil Wayne]
    'Coldest Winter'

My heart skips a beat to:
That really good song that you can put on repeat without getting tired of it, the perfect swish from nothing but net, bright colors that scream attention which I don't like to bask in, cars that remind me of cartoons, the right sneakers for every occasion, the honest "I've-missed-you" look my dog gives me when I come home, a quick run in the dark imagining someone is chasing me, anything kawaiiiiii, frozen desserts of many fulfilling kinds, heroes or arch-nemeses, life ambitions and carpe diem actions, exercising brain power, exploring So Cal, and eating food that is yummy-yummy, in my tummy. Did I mention I'm a web-junkie? Long live internet!
