a Basketball term meaning to embarrass some one usually while slamming the ball over them. It refers to the guy whos being dunked on in basketball posters.

For example, watch as super-Ariza flies by the opponents.  Up, up, and away!

Forget thunder, they just got reign/"rained" on!

When you get an email in your inbox from an esteemed celebrity like T.I., of course your curiosity peeks to see what it is.  I am not even sure why this landed in my inbox.  I know it wasn't something I made a point to seek out.  I'm sure I'm signed up for some hip hop subscriber list, and their campaign trickled down through millions of emails from the black book of hip hop emails, straight down to me.

And since he asked, (sometimes that's all it takes), I am helping spread the word.  Not only because T.I. told me (amongst 1000s of others) to do so, but because I feel this year's election is going to be a close one and it is your right to vote for who you agree with most.  Obviously no candidate is perfect and you won't find one candidate who you can say thinks and supports exactly all of the same policies and views you do.  But if you don't vote, you have no say at all, and you can't even complain about it.  For those of us on the fence (I'm sure there are many of us out there), we've got a little over 1 week to make that final call.  I've entertained the write-in vote before, course that always makes you wonder if you're only foiling the end-result by taking away from the tally between the front-runners.

Nevermind that T.I.'s right to vote has been taken away because he is convicted.  And that he is charged with attempting to buy uh, pretty serious weapons.  Despite it all, his album is like #1 on the charts right now.  Maybe this is all a marketing ploy as well.  You know me and my conspiracy theories.  What's a little felony, when you can climb the charts and encourage more votes?   You certainly can't deny talent - his songs get pretty addicting to listen to. Anyway don't vote because T.I. wants you to to do it, vote because YOU want to do it.  Don't deny yourself of your rights.

Looks like the Blackberry Storm is on the way.  First we saw the G1 with its left-jab and uppercut with its release this week.  (Take that iPhone!  But wait..I simply cannot live without my iPhone, love that thing.)  It's refreshing to know that competitors are packing in the punches, because this will bring forth bigger consumer expectations, more improvements, and hopefully even better-than-EVER iPhones!

Check out the showdown from Wired:  http://blog.wired.com/gadgets/2008/10/showdown-blackb.html

Way back when, Coach N would bust out his raggedy clipboard, scribble some chicken scratch, and of course, he would point out his nice parabolas (our bball coach was also my scrutinizing calculus teacher), and to be honest, it was difficult for me to visualize each play on the court.  I preferred it when he would make us stop everything in practice to enact the play in slow motion.  For me, nothing beats learning by actually doing the task at hand.  Yet I admit, visuals are important to help grasp the full concept.

Fast forward to 2008.  I wonder if there are computer programs that can simplify playmaking.  Kind of like these demo videos I discovered through NY Times:  http://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2008/02/28/sports/playmagazine/20080229_GUNDY_GRAPHIC.html?ref=basketball

A few commentaries with Jeff Van Gundy give you a look at defensive plays run against popular NBA players. I praise using technology as a way to demonstrate something so fundamental.  This is great!  I hope they add more clips throughout the year.

My heart skips a beat to:
That really good song that you can put on repeat without getting tired of it, the perfect swish from nothing but net, bright colors that scream attention which I don't like to bask in, cars that remind me of cartoons, the right sneakers for every occasion, the honest "I've-missed-you" look my dog gives me when I come home, a quick run in the dark imagining someone is chasing me, anything kawaiiiiii, frozen desserts of many fulfilling kinds, heroes or arch-nemeses, life ambitions and carpe diem actions, exercising brain power, exploring So Cal, and eating food that is yummy-yummy, in my tummy. Did I mention I'm a web-junkie? Long live internet!
