All right.  Set self timer.  Perfect.  Get in, get in!  Your friend hurriedly scrambles into the group to get in right before the automated *snap*.

For those of you who know a family member or friend who can't get enough of their point & shoot camera - and simply loooove taking group photos ...

this is a cool gift!  Sure, some of you may say, ah, why bother, when you can stack some books under it and achieve the same thing.

Ah, but this doo-hickey tripod latches on the bottom so it's convenient for you to angle it up if you need to.  Just set it, and voila, kodak or in this case -  digi moment.  It fits most point & shoots with a standard 1/4"-20 tripod socket.

It's the Manfrotto 797 Flat-folding Digital Camera TriPod and retails on average from $25 - $35.

The ever-so-vague "lunch trade" that Ivanka Trump speaks of on her blog has peaked our interest.  Scheduled to run the events tomorrow, Ivanka has been hyping it up (mildly) on the lunch trade blog:  http://blog.alunchtrade.com/    Seemingly, this is an attempt at viral promotion that may not have sparked as much interest as desired.  The NY Times reports this is a joint venture between Ivanka and Con Agra foods, for the launch of new microwavable meals targetting office workers.  (http://www.nytimes.com/2008/10/20/business/media/20trump.html)

Despite Ivanka's stoic demeanor on "The Apprentice", she is an example of a hard-working business woman who continues to drive herself despite a huge head start thanks to being born into the Trump legacy.  At least, her apparent self-control has allowed her to continue on her path of success and avoid the downfall of wealthy celebrities and others who do not set a strong example for our youth.

Coincidentally, I just recently researched "Recruiting a Celebrity" for marketing campaigns, and seems Con Agra is doing just that.  Will it work?  Let's see how the lunch trade events go tomorrow.

Am I the only one that finds this amusing?  http://cosmos.bcst.yahoo.com/up/player/popup/?cl=10234011

During one of the most critical presidential debates, Joe the Plumber was referenced by both Senators 23 times.

20 days left til election time...  Joe does have a good point though - EDUCATE YOURSELVES.  Don't rely on others solely for your information.   Watch these debates over again if you can.  Research their campaigns.  Vote for what YOU believe in.

    for the Dodgers this year.

Too freekin' bad.  I'm pretty disappointed.

    Things to note:

    - Dodgers should have won Game 4.

    - Dodgers pitching needs immediate attention.

    - Dodgers decided to put Russell Martin to bat 4th in the lineup.  Not a good move.  But it wouldn't have been that bad if we had won Game 4.

    - Furcal had a couple of errors.  Sad.   But it's OK.  Again, we should've won Game 4, then this game wouldn't have mattered anyway.

    - I heard from a friend who attended the game, that getting there and parking was a b*tch.  They said the stadium was empty at 3rd inning despite a sold out crowd, and people were still trying to crawl into the stadium at 6th inning.  In fact, a 20 mile drive, took my friend 3 hours to get in.  I think the MLB should re-evaluate why they shouldn't start games so early over here.  I'm glad I didn't dish out the extra cash to see the game in person although I was very tempted.

Well, no sense in crying now.  We can rally back next year, Dodgers.  Think Blue!  I'm amazed we were able to even get this far in the series!
I haven't had this much fun keeping up with baseball since 2002, when the Angels took one home.

Now, time to move on to my first love.

Basketball.  Ah, Lakers, where for art thou?  Next game:  Saturday Oct 18th vs. Barcelona.

You may have heard the emphasis on this year's election – it's absolutely critical that you, as an American citizen vote this year, but if you do, please do so wisely.  It may not miraculously rescue the state of the economy, but there are decisions you can impact.

The other day, Lpanda and I were audience to a young man who is obviously trying to encourage people to vote.  This exuberant young man exclaims, "Make sure you register!  We don't care who you vote for, just make sure you vote."     Aghast at such an ignorant comment, we hope his words were just a misfire, and his intent really meant, "Make sure you register!  Don't vote aimlessly.  Please research all your options before making your final call."    While we do want people to be heard, what we don't want is a bunch of uneducated votes to determine who leads this country.

The presidential debate is on tonight.  You'd have to be TV-less and living under a rock to miss it.  Although, it does conflict with our very critical Dodger/Philly game, uh... so yeah, thank goodness for dual recording DVR's!

My heart skips a beat to:
That really good song that you can put on repeat without getting tired of it, the perfect swish from nothing but net, bright colors that scream attention which I don't like to bask in, cars that remind me of cartoons, the right sneakers for every occasion, the honest "I've-missed-you" look my dog gives me when I come home, a quick run in the dark imagining someone is chasing me, anything kawaiiiiii, frozen desserts of many fulfilling kinds, heroes or arch-nemeses, life ambitions and carpe diem actions, exercising brain power, exploring So Cal, and eating food that is yummy-yummy, in my tummy. Did I mention I'm a web-junkie? Long live internet!
