Perhaps one of the most artistic and well integrated videos I've witnessed in a while.  (Special thanks to K for the heads up.)

Kanye West released his Love Lockdown video yesterday to the public, as seen on Ellen Degeneres' talk show.  I encourage you to go straight to his blog to see it in high quality:  http://www.kanyeuniversecity.com/blog/?em3106=209224_-1__0_~0_-1_10_2008_0_0&em3281=&em3161=

I love the use of all white throughout the house and might I add, Kanye is looking, for lack of a better-fitting term - super GQ.  Wow.  Excuse me while I go pick up my jaw off the floor.  Upon further research, sources say he was inspired by the movie American Psycho in creating this piece.  That's my kind of movie!   Probably one of Christian Bale's best roles, though, he hardly fails to deliver.  And the random transitions from the modern-day interior to the cultural African tribal themed fantasy (which vaguely reminded me of a classy version of scenes from my all-time favorite movie Coming to America), blended so well together against the beat of the heart in his song.  Excuse my language but this f*cking blows my mind, I love it!

Here are some of my favorite stills from the video pictured below:

    1.  I wouldn't mind sitting on that couch with him.
    2.  African Tribal Elements
    3.  My favorite scene.  Amazing how simple hand motions and seating position can portray so much emotion.
    4.  Excellent costumes.
    5.  And it wouldn't be Kanye without ladies.  I like the glowing body paint!
    6.  Is she the one on his mind?
    7.  What's your interpretation of this scene?

Kanye's album, 808s & Heartbreak is set to drop Nov. 25, earlier than anticipated.  (Thanks L for this scoop.)  Ye, your fans await!  Now, back to your regularly scheduled program.

In an attempt to save some money and stay on a healthy course, I've cooked up some lunch to take to work for the rest of the week.

This week's menu:   Stir Fry Rice Noodles with Beef + Veggies.

Some of you may recall my attempt at meatless pot stickers not too long ago.  I'm not a vegetarian but I'm not your die-hard red meat eater either.  I just eat red meat at a minimum.  I really just have to be in the mood to eat beef, and I must be in the mood today.

    Photos:

    1.  Here's the before.  Prep time, about 10-15 minutes.  Ingredients include thin slices of beef, honey, corn starch, soy sauce, garlic, red onions, lemon grass, bok choy, and rice paper.

    2.  This is the after.  I glanced at the clock, everything took a little over an hour.  The smell of garlic infused our kitchen.  I was shooting for more of a chow fun effect, but I think I ended up with something closer to Pad See Ew instead.  Whatever, it's edible.

    3.  Time for the taste test.  Not too shabby.  I think it could use a little more sauce, but happy with the flavor.   Yup, capped off with water and cucumber slices, refreshing!

    4.  My sous chef.  He likes to sneak into the kitchen when iron chef's going on.  ha.

So the game really took off as soon as we started seeing error after error...  it all started when Loney hit directly to Cubs SS Theriot, within split-second reaction time decided to try and catch it barehanded and failed.  Soon after, we began witnessing the Cubs who are praised for their amazing defense, collapsing under NLDS pressure.  My dad laughed and said, "Looks like they're nervous!"  If anyone is more captain obvious than I am, my dad would surpass me by far.

It wasn't long before Dodgers kept getting men on base, thanks to Dodgers awesome offense this year, hits and RBI's are not a problem.  Russell Martin drove a few more home to bring the score to 5-0.  Man Ram also couldn't go through the night without swatting one out of the park himself.

Due to the Cubs unfortunate errors, now there's a bit of buzz going around and superstitious beliefs about the Cubs' curse being responsible for something as tragic as this.  Although, I'd like to point out, the Dodgers are doing an amazing job, and we shouldn't discredit them for one heck of a performance.   Of course, sports fans will always conspire curses, it just comes with the territory.  Every time they place a football player on the cover of Madden (video game), they all of a sudden become a prime target of bad luck.   And close to home, there are those who theorize the Clippers' sad track record (poor Elgin) are also attributed to some curse.   As much of a fan I am, I don't believe in curses.  I believe that what you put in, is what you get out of it.  Ha, that and sometimes coincidence can be a b*tch.

Anyway, back to the Dodgers.  Pictured below.  Yes, despite Dodgers offensive strength, let's not forget this cool catch by Ramirez on the defensive end -  sorry Edmonds, what scared me into thinking it was a homer, merely became a deep-dive for Manny into the ivy.  Fast forward, final score by the end of the night?  10-3.  Wow. Tune into Saturday's game as Dodgers bring it back to LA!

The latest I'm going to add to my faves:

    Wristcutters: A Love Story

I think at the end I was left wondering if there is such a thing as second chances and the hopes of finding the love you are truly meant for.  Even if it means doing so in the afterlife(?)
It was just the kind of dark comedy I was in the mood for, and if you like classics like Donnie Darko and Everything is Illuminated, give it a try. Love Shannyn Sossamon and Patrick Fugit.

Loney, Loney, Loney!  Came through with a major Grand Slam to help defeat Chicago tonight!

"The grand slam by Loney was the Dodgers' first in postseason play since Dusty Baker on Oct. 5, 1977... The four RBIs by Loney equal a Dodgers NLDS single-game record, tying Eric Karros (Oct. 4, 1995). It also ties him with Karros and Steve Garvey (1981) for most RBIs by a Dodgers player in an NLDS series and in a career for the NLDS"

My heart skips a beat to:
That really good song that you can put on repeat without getting tired of it, the perfect swish from nothing but net, bright colors that scream attention which I don't like to bask in, cars that remind me of cartoons, the right sneakers for every occasion, the honest "I've-missed-you" look my dog gives me when I come home, a quick run in the dark imagining someone is chasing me, anything kawaiiiiii, frozen desserts of many fulfilling kinds, heroes or arch-nemeses, life ambitions and carpe diem actions, exercising brain power, exploring So Cal, and eating food that is yummy-yummy, in my tummy. Did I mention I'm a web-junkie? Long live internet!
