For clinching the NL west. Look how happy Loney is bathing in champagne!
This has been a pretty good year for LA in general. First, Lakers scored Pau (sorry Memphis got the short end of the stick in that deal). Then the Dodgers landed Manny. All Dodgers need now is a kick ass pitcher like Johan Santana. OK maybe I'm pushing my luck. Never hurts to dream big.

So Tim Burton and Johnny Depp will team up again to bring us what I predict will be a fabulous version of Alice in Wonderland! Hooray! And Depp as the Mad Hatter, I think, will be nothing short of extraordinary. I don't love Depp simply because like a fine wine, he gets better even with age. This is true though, what other 40+ actor do you know who still looks this good? I love him moreover because of the eclectic character he is able to portray which he seems to play upon his real-life eccentricity. And he has this ability to captivate an audience with a mysterious, yet convincing performance. He is one of those guys who can get away with saying only a few words when he goes up to accept an award, yet you still feel enamored by his presence. OK this post is of course, a little biased. I'm a bit of a fan.
But yes, 2010, can't wait for Alice in Wonderland!
..or these kicks. Reebok and Champs bring you the shoes you can get your smack talk on. The Reebok "Talkin' Krazy" These kicks are dry-erase friendly, so you can write whatever you want on your shoes, erase, and re-write.
Interesting.. wonder if kids might dig them? http://www.champssportslounge.com/talkkrazy/
So, gee, what's the latest tech buzz right now? Hello G1. It's the new Google phone available from T-Mobile, available in the US starting October 22nd. So what's the dilly? How does it compare to the ever-so-fun iPhone?
Here's my little feature comparison of the G1 vs iPhone (based on what I know so far, as far as I'm concerned it's only a best guess without product in hand) Who Wins?Music – iPhone(Can't
beat cover flow! and easy to use iTunes)
Text Messaging – Tie (G1 offers wide screen, and iPhone
divides messages by conversations)
Maps – G1 (Street view! Compass mode! Google Maps FTW!)
Internet – Tie (G1: dedicated search.iPhone: Cooler Zoom function, G1:
Copy&Send Links)
Apps – Tie? (Available for both, Marketplace vs. Apple Store)
Ad Slogan - iPhone (I prefer Funnest ever to Funnerer.
Although some might beg to differ)
Camera – G1 (1 up on the megapixels)
Network – iPhone (AT&T sucks less than T-Mobile)
Internet – Tie?(Both
offer 3G)Typing – Personal Preference.(Some like hardkeys, some like touch screen)
Screen Size – iPhone
(3.5" vs 3.17")
Dimensions – Tie? (So it appears the G1 is skinnier, but the iPhone is slimmer. 4.6 x 2.16 x 0.63 in vs 4.5 x 2.4 x .48 in)
Weight – iPhone (4.7 ounces vs. 5.6 ounces)
Overall Design – iPhone (Still looks sleeker)
Price – G1? $179 vs iPhone $199 (plus healthy contract/data plan fees)
Memory – Not sure. (G1: MicroSD slot for up to 8GB vs. iPhone: 8GB/16GB models no memory expansion)
Some Brooding Questions I have:
Does the G1 offer any video recording?
Does the G1 or any phone for that matter, have the capacity
to support Flash web content?
Does the G1 offer flash photography?
Will a future G(X) or iPhone(gen X) allow you to copy and
paste text right from the web?
Of course, like many of you out there, can't make the final call until we use the final product ourselves.
...Nanochromatic. Test drove one over the weekend, and I like that it's still slim, interesting that they reverted back to this Gen design. Critics will poke at its video playback purpose- wondering how anyone can truly enjoy watching a music video or movie from such an itty-bitty screen. Consumer expectations are so high today. We expect everything to work flawlessly and the way we want it to. Some technophiles may wonder why we all don't own hoverboards yet? Sometimes it's nice to step back and look at it from a different angle. Let's not take modern technology for granted. I'm pretty amazed. Thinking back to my kindergarten days, I remember we had to slip a huge beta cassette into a pretty bulky machine. After watching the first half of the Hobbit, we'd switch up and load the next beta tape to finish the second half of the movie. Only to find that someone recorded part of Annie over the second tape, and freekin' ruined the ending. Sadly, I still don't know what happened to good old Bilbo. Talk over the concept of DVR, Internet TV with your grandparents, they'll school you to appreciate that, too. Fast forward to today. Now you can just load up this tiny thing, take it wherever you go, and watch entire movies at your leisure on top of listening to thousands of songs Pretty nifty! http://www.apple.com
