I mentioned I have been looking for THE one.

    More like THE ultimate bike.

Or at least a bike that is worth my investment and I will keep for 10+ years.

So my friend L just tipped me about a company that makes foldable bikes.  Imagine that!  I've never seen one in person, but the concept sounds interesting.

Not sure if this is totally necessary.  I can always just get a bike rack for my car, but I guess being able to fold your bike on the go could be rather convenient.

This is a remarkable contest held every year, and the quality of the entries is amazing.

If you're a photographer, student, amateur, or pro in the D.C. area (see official rules), you are eligible to enter.

I was a little bummed myself, that I don't qualify since I'm all the way out here on the west coast.  Regardless, the theme is cool - capturing the spirit of D.C.
Can't wait to see the entries!

By the way, activism via internet is amazing.
Strength in numbers! Collaborate!  Viral messaging!
There is great potential to outdo the Sally Struthers and Jerry Lewis TV fundraisers of yesterday...

Knowledge is power.  Research your options.  And give back.  Contribute to a good cause, even a little bit helps.

I commend artists for their creative juices, and allowing us to visit inside their minds through their work.

Most recent favorite: the work of Mike Sosnowski.
This one is titled Grandma's Little Helper.

I like the use of shadows vs light and distinct lines, a mezcla of colors and alluding to a dark and surprisingly enjoyable interpretation.

I am not enrolled right now yet I always know when school days have commenced. Check out my traffic battle. I'd estimate it's double what I face in the summer.

This is another one of my guilty late night pleasures. I still watch teenage TV shows, maybe because I feel like I can relive my youth if I wish hard enough. Or maybe because I just think the script is pretty addicting. So the Chuck and Blair saga continues...

Chuck: Please don't leave with him.

Blair: Why? Give me a reason. And "I'm Chuck Bass" doesn't count.

Chuck: Because you don't want to.

    Blair: Not good enough.

Chuck: Because I don't want you to.

    Blair: That's not enough.

    Chuck: What else is there?

Blair: The true reason I should stay right where I am and not get in the car. Three words. Eight letters. Say it and I'm yours.

    Chuck: I- I..

Blair: Thank you that's all I needed to hear.

Chuck can't seem to say what he feels and this is enough for Blair to climb in the car of some "Lord" of England and they drive off leaving Chuck to stand alone.

I know... I kinda feel like I need to watch double the Sportscenter to make up for this pansy sappy stuff. But it's good.

I saw this tee at UO the other day.

Up until recently I was very torn about the whole election. Now I'm still slightly torn.

If only it were as easy as choosing a favorite dish or song.

I've been drafting a list of pro's and con's for both parties and the lists have grown rather long. I have so many looming questions. For instance, Barack claims he can guarantee lower fuel prices. How does he intend to do so?

Of course I want to fight for a better economy, don't we all? Is it time for the democratic party to step up now? Is this change he speaks so well of, possible? I don't want to merely be a band wagoner. I want to justify my choice and make sure it's the right one. I know so many celebrities and athletes support Barack, but do you truly know what he stands for? Can you say you believe and support him 100%?

If you don't know, research wisely. And make your vote count. The bad news is both VP candidates are somewhat disappointing. The good news is that your vote can make a difference.

...remind me to not take things for granted.

    Photo

She's my precious 'niece' and she makes me realize it's OK that life is imperfect. Many times, I try so hard, I give my all, and at the end of the day sometimes despite my triumphant smile, deep down I'm a little defeated. I stand tall, but inside I've shrunk. I hold my head high and yet I seek a shoulder to rest my weary head on.

But if I hold her just a second longer, I feel empowered again. My problems are trivial. I can live another day to overcome more obstacles and I'll do it because she will follow by example. I won't let her down.

My heart skips a beat to:
That really good song that you can put on repeat without getting tired of it, the perfect swish from nothing but net, bright colors that scream attention which I don't like to bask in, cars that remind me of cartoons, the right sneakers for every occasion, the honest "I've-missed-you" look my dog gives me when I come home, a quick run in the dark imagining someone is chasing me, anything kawaiiiiii, frozen desserts of many fulfilling kinds, heroes or arch-nemeses, life ambitions and carpe diem actions, exercising brain power, exploring So Cal, and eating food that is yummy-yummy, in my tummy. Did I mention I'm a web-junkie? Long live internet!
