Tune in tonight 7pm PST for us west coasters.

    Photo

A lot of coverage out there, here are some jaw-dropping, amazing photos: http://www.boston.com/bigpicture/2008/08/2008_olympics_opening_ceremony.html

A picture can capture a moment, a life, a mood, an experience...

My friend "K" once told me "a picture is worth a thousand words."

The Lakers proudly present, Chinese Magic:

No, NOT that kind of Chinese Magic...  This kind!

Lakers are signing him on for 2-years.  Will he be a valuable addition to the team?  Stay tuned.

I don't think it's justifiable to compare anyone to the one and only Magic.  Apparently, they're the same height, and harbor a similar passing mentality.

    The original Magic:

I can't take credit for the "Eureka!" for this one. Special thanks goes out to Alpha for the tip - Nuevasync (http://www.nuevasync.com) gives you the power to sync your Google calendar onto your iPhone calendar!

"The batcomputer is none too frisky today, Batman!" But not to fear, Robin, iPhone to the rescue.

    Photo

Now I can stay updated on my oh-so-busy schedule without having to succumb to Outlook.

I'm seriously tempted to buy Google paraphernalia because I'm such an advocate. And all I can picture is my old college professor who would wear the same outfit every lecture (I often wondered if his closet was filled with identical black turtlenecks) smirking with an, " I told you so". I bet he's one of the lucky ducks who secured Google shares in it's primitive days. All hail, Google.

Although I will mention even what is perceived as the best of the best cannot be flawless. After muh pondering and discussions with Alpha, we've realized the calendar is not as user-friendly as I think it has the power to be. The functionality is all there, but the ease for a non-computer savvy person to get it right away is a little inadequate. I have no trouble with it, but I can see it could take many a while to get used to. Likewise, Gmail rocks my socks but I do think some of the settings take some fiddling around and exploring to unlock all the cool features. I happen to use the filter system obsessively, but its strength and value can be hidden to first-time users. Once you tap into it though, it becomes your ally.

Yeesh, at this rate, why don't I just walk around with Google tattoed on my forehead...

This one is not so secret.  It's a public garden at CSULB.

There's still almost 3 months left until the start of the NBA, but I'm getting eager already. Like an eager beaver.  Why do they say beavers are eager?   I picture a furry little brown creature gnawing away at a piece of bark.

Anyway, so the NBA has recently released the 2008-2009 season schedule, be sure to check out your favorite teams' calendars.   http://www.nba.com/teams/teamSchedulesLinks.html

The fact that the Lakers play the Celtics on Christmas Day does not surprise me.  Can't wait for a rematch against the team that supposedly has the "best" player in the world.  Nice way to hype yourself up, Paul!

On another note, NBA fans are waiting to see what name they decide on for the new OKC team.  I'm glad they aren't carrying over the "Sonics" name.   That would just be like breaking tradition.  Just like, you can't remove the Reignman and the Glove away from the Sonics legacy.

So back to the name.  Which would you pick from: Barons, Bison, Energy, Marshalls, Wind, and Thunder?

Energy?!  I know, how about the OKC Lightbulbs?  Or Bolts?  Zap!  Pow!  Nope, not so much!
I honestly can't say I have a favorite.  Sources say "Thunder" is in the lead.  Guess we'll find out soon.

This morning I'm enjoying a cream puff and some tea courtesy of my good friend "jasmine". Ever since I've entered the working world, I never skip breakfast. Even if it's just a glass of milk or OJ, I need somethig to get me going early on.

Once in a while, I randomly go on walks and I like taking pictures of signs.

How often do you really pay attention to them?

I like the one that seems to mean "No Man's Land" or "No Man Allowed" or "No Man Beyond this Point" maybe?
Heck if I know. I'm no sign expert.

When I reached this one, I contemplated going further.  It said nothing about women.  (*snicker)

I wasn't as excited about the Olympics this year but now I'm pretty stoked about this year's US basketball team.

I don't think any team will ever compare with the original Dream Team of '92. That was basketball at Its finest: Magic, Jordan, Bird, Clyde the Glyde, the Admiral, Pip, Ewing, sir Charles, Stockton, the Mailman, Laettner, and Mullin.

Fast forward to the current times. It may not be 92, but the amount of talent this team has is still mindblowing: 'Bron! CP! DWade! Melo! Bosh! Man child Dwight! Kidd! Tayshaun! Deron! Boozer! Redd!

And last but definitely not least, here's Kobe!

My heart skips a beat to:
That really good song that you can put on repeat without getting tired of it, the perfect swish from nothing but net, bright colors that scream attention which I don't like to bask in, cars that remind me of cartoons, the right sneakers for every occasion, the honest "I've-missed-you" look my dog gives me when I come home, a quick run in the dark imagining someone is chasing me, anything kawaiiiiii, frozen desserts of many fulfilling kinds, heroes or arch-nemeses, life ambitions and carpe diem actions, exercising brain power, exploring So Cal, and eating food that is yummy-yummy, in my tummy. Did I mention I'm a web-junkie? Long live internet!
