I don't think I've seen a really great action movie since .. I dunno, I guess since the era of Con Air, FaceOff, and the Rock. I guess Transformers kind of counts too, but that incorporated more comedy than jaw dropping action scenes.

Anyway a new one to add to my list of favorites, that tops the cake - The Dark Knight. It did NOT disappoint. Of course, my favorite character was none other than the Joker himself as crazy as he was. The acting was phenomenal! And I am only doing action films in IMAX from here on out. Period. By the way, what is up with Batman's voice? Haha, as D would say, someone pass him a coughdrop or something!

Something about it being lit up at night is so calming. Even amidst all the hustle and bustle. The Dark Knight, here we come.

Today I bought a lucky lemon to bless all my friends.

This old Asian lady who nearly got run over while crossing the street came by with a bag of lemons for sale. She was feeble and gentle, and my workbuddies and I felt bad for her. So E and I both bought a lemon each for $1. One dollar to bless her soul and all of ours. I am thankful to be able to receive a paycheck in this world. I am not sure what that $1 will contribute to her world but a $1 might mean more to someone else. Besides, now I've got a lucky lemon!

Insert the Proclaimers - "500 miles" song here.  (Anyone a fan of Benny and Joon?  A classic.)

Anyway, I've recently been reading articles about Ultra Running, and just to give you a taste of what it's all about:

It's amazing, you know?   I've completed 3 marathons, and that is probably the proudest thing I've ever accomplished in my life. But I can only imagine...completing 100 miles?  The part that intimidates me the most is the fact that there is no obvious closed-off course paved off for you - Ultra runners run through such rugged terrains...  All I can say is, "Wow!"  I read this article where this one runner developed rock-hard blisters a quarter of the run, and he had to run on those painful blisters the rest of the way!  Well obviously, it's not like he has a choice.  Can you imagine?  100 miles, in twenty-some odd hours.  It perplexes me so much that I wonder if I could ever do it?  If I could run 100 miles straight????  They say if you put your mind to it...     Could you?

I'd tell you my lotto numbers too, but you're on a need-to-know basis and you don't need to know.

What's your favorite search engine?  I notice some of the 'older' folk or less-techie prefer using Yahoo or MSN Live to search online (correct me if I'm wrong).  But I am a bonafide Google-whore.  It's my homepage, and it's like my resource for everything.  I convert things, I define things, I translate things, Google is my little internet concierge.  If only it could vacuum and pick up my dry-cleaning, too...

Anyway I stumbled upon Cuil (believe it or not, it's pronounced "Cool"), which apparently is an attempt at outdoing Google at the Search Engine.  If this is old news, forgive me, as much as I like to try and keep up with the times, it's so easy to fall behind.   Anyway, I have to say, I like that it tries to reorganize the actual results page to something that is a little more structured, categorized..  and while I like to think it's a smarter interface, I'm not sure yet whether I like it this way.   The concept is there.  I definitely am an advocate of more logical ways to lay out your info - but I guess I'm not sure if their methodology is to my liking. (yet) I do like that there are some images tied to the results, especially if you have an idea of what you are looking for.  Visual recognition is always a plus in my book - you can accomplish a lot with icons, imagery, screen caps, diagrams... that plain text may fail at.  But then again, I'm a girl who eats words for breakfast, thrives off of details, and seemingly has an addiction for writing in excess so I don't have a problem with all the text summaries that Google results bring up.  At least there's potential.  And I'm sure Google won't idly sit by without exploring alternative solutions.

This is a great example of American's foundation built upon capitalism and freedom- my belief on why the US is a success.  Competition!  Options!  While it's tough for someone to come up against a giant in the industry like Google itself, if no one challenged them, there would never be demand for improvement. I know, now I'm spitting out like grade-school economics.  But it's true!  Something so simple like competition, results in (hopefully) improved products/services, and so much more to choose from.  The other day I went to the grocery store and I just gawked at all my options sitting on the shelves.

So while Google may still be the champ (in my book anyway), now all the more reason for Google to continue to bring it strong!  And I commend Cuil too, because it's worth a shot.  Sure, why not?

I figure I commute on average ~700 hours a year. That's a lot of time I invest sitting in the car. It's where I get my best karaoke time in. And I think I could take on Danica. If you can drive and successfully dodge things in LA, you can drive through anything. I think we all tend to complain about traffic. But on the bright side, you can use that time to think things through and if you're like me, sing your lungs out.

My heart skips a beat to:
That really good song that you can put on repeat without getting tired of it, the perfect swish from nothing but net, bright colors that scream attention which I don't like to bask in, cars that remind me of cartoons, the right sneakers for every occasion, the honest "I've-missed-you" look my dog gives me when I come home, a quick run in the dark imagining someone is chasing me, anything kawaiiiiii, frozen desserts of many fulfilling kinds, heroes or arch-nemeses, life ambitions and carpe diem actions, exercising brain power, exploring So Cal, and eating food that is yummy-yummy, in my tummy. Did I mention I'm a web-junkie? Long live internet!
