My coworker brought me back souvenirs from Hawaii.

Pancake mix which is great because I don't have any. I'll let you know how that works out. And a hello kitty notepad. Check hello kitty out! She's tan! Must be from surfing all those waves in Oahu.

I just stirfried some chicken with ginger and string beans tonight. So I can pack it for lunch tomorrow. It's funny cooking when you are slightly buzzed. My mom thinks it smells wonderful. Well, I am no iron chef but I will never starve. Next week's menu: tofu sauteed with artificial crab meat and topped off with mushroom garnish. It's a fancy way of saying tofu and other stuff.

It was too good to be true. Hello traffic. LA without traffic? Not possible. Ugh.

...I wouldn't have to worry about putting on a few pounds, or debate about what to wear. And I'd be a grumpy stick figure right about now.

On days like today, work feels suffocating. The walls cave in, and I find myself leaping through a mental obstacle course.

    Photo

I'd like to just crawl into bed, sleep for a few days, and come back out into sunlight when the world is a better place and all my problems are miraculously solved. I know, now I don't sound like a stick figure, I sound more like a hibernating bear that wins the lotto, and gets fish served to her rather than have to fend for it. Oh the glamorous life we wish to lead.

Today my lunch consists of chirashi, which is like a Japanese bowl of chopped up sashimi on rice, a peach, a sakura cookie, and a "sports" drink. My only desire is to speak Japanese because they always talk to me in Japanese and I can only reply with an Arigato.. Eh, I'm working on it.

In early celebration of my birthday, girls and I went to a cute Japanese-themed tea cafe that features a mini art exhibit. It was pleasantly modern, open, and the concept is definitely kawaii, it has potential. Thought the food could use a little improvement, but I liked the idea that it was more than just tea. Enjoyed some unique art, including some of Murakami's work.

When my friends confirmed my infatuation with tea, L.panda asked me, "Do you know who loves to drink tea?" I asked, "Who?" thinking she was hinting about a super-cool celebrity or someone we personally know.. And instead answers this: "Old people." I walked right into that one...ha, gee thanks. :) happy birthday to me, I guess, uh not just yet. But many thanks to the girls for a lovely weekend!

...some Japanese iced coffee. I'm not a coffee drinker. I would take a tea over coffee any day. But sometimes I need that boost to survive the day. I haven't crashed yet!

This town is colder now, I think it's sick of us
It's time to make our move, I'm shakin' off the rust
I've got my heart set on anywhere but here
I'm staring down myself, counting up the years
Steady hands, just take the wheel
    Every glance is killing me
Time to make one last appeal
    For the life I lead

    Stop and stare
I think I'm moving but I go nowhere
Yeah, I know that everyone gets scared
But I've become what I can't be, oh
    Stop and stare
You start to wonder why you're "here" not there
And you'd give anything to get what's fair
But fair ain't what you really need
Oh, can you see what I see?

They're tryin' to come back, all my senses push
Untie the weight bags, I never thought I could
Steady feet, don't fail me now
I'ma run 'til you can't walk
But something pulls my focus out
    And I'm standing down

    Stop and stare
I think I'm moving but I go nowhere
Yeah I know that everyone gets scared
But I've become what I can't be, oh
    Stop and stare
You start to wonder why you're here not there
And you'd give anything to get what's fair
But fair ain't what you really need
    Oh, you really don't need

What you need, what you need, what you need

    Stop and stare
I think I'm moving but I go nowhere
Yeah I know that everyone gets scared
    I've become what I can't be
Oh, do you see what I see?

As independent as I wish myself to be, sometimes I just need someone to take care of me. Someone who doesn't interrogate me when I come home and accepts the fact that I need companionship and someone to lean on. A mentor, a solid foundation, and yes someone who will score the basket for me just as much as giving me an assist when I need it. I don't plan on being alone forever.

My heart skips a beat to:
That really good song that you can put on repeat without getting tired of it, the perfect swish from nothing but net, bright colors that scream attention which I don't like to bask in, cars that remind me of cartoons, the right sneakers for every occasion, the honest "I've-missed-you" look my dog gives me when I come home, a quick run in the dark imagining someone is chasing me, anything kawaiiiiii, frozen desserts of many fulfilling kinds, heroes or arch-nemeses, life ambitions and carpe diem actions, exercising brain power, exploring So Cal, and eating food that is yummy-yummy, in my tummy. Did I mention I'm a web-junkie? Long live internet!
