..because their compassion, genuine kindness, and honesty blows me away.
They've never judged me and love me for me. Even when emotions get the best of me. My guy friends have never factored me out because I'm a girl. They've always treated me as one of the guys, so I've always been lucky to play ball with the guys, and even write basketball articles for blogs. It wasn't until my later years I've also gotten in touch with my girl side, and I have my girl friends to thank for bringing that side out in me, for little things like getting our nails done or spending hours over tea or good eats conversing. And they always support me in achieving my dreams, especially lately with my first entrepreneurial adventure. They will sit through good movies and awful movies with me. They will enjoy a concert escape from the world with me. They will be my wingman at a wedding or an event I particularly don't want to be alone at. They will send me flowers or drive out and bring me a boba when I am feeling blue. When we eat, we eat family style, there's no me, myself, and I, it's always US. There are those who constantly need an excuse to go out and party it up to have a good time.. but I'm blessed my friends are the kind who don't mind sitting at home and hanging out and laughing together without being under the influence of anything other than each other's company.
As we approach the holidays, again, I'm reminded why it's important to be surrounded by good people. I don't have much family, but that's OK because I'm extremely LUCKY to have amazing friends.
