Will be airing on ESPN March 11, 2012 9PM ET.

I grew up in L.A., though I was young, Magic Johnson was a big part of our household.  My dad's the type of dad who has to watch the game somehow if it is on, even if we're eating dinner somewhere.  He would bring his headphones with him to restaurants or if we're at home the game is always on the TV.  So you can be sure we'll be catching this documentary on Magic Johnson.

By now, if you haven't seen the amazing marketing campaign brought to you by the geniuses over at Nike, you are missing out.  Gotta love the Kobe System.  All of the ads are delightfully inspiring, but this one is my favorite yet!  When you dominate the game early, you should also dominate the game late!  Dominate REM sleep!

I'm still mulling over the downhill aftermath of the 2nd half.  What is it about Portland that they're always motivated to beat our Lakers?  When I watched Blazers vs Clippers, Wallace was lethargic and I was even telling myself, thank goodness we didn't get a trade for that guy afterall.  Come yesterday, the Blazers were a juiced up squad, trying to run and outgun us, wearing our old players down, and really?  Did Wallace need to have his breakthrough offensive performance against US?  Sure Bynum (oh 2012, be good to us please), Kobe (hope the wrist is OK), and Pau came out to play, but the bottom-line is we got our butts handed to us in the 3rd quarter.. Maybe my dad wasn't far off when he longingly watched Lowry the night before and said we could use a PG like him.  No disrespect to Fisher, as he's been a great asset to us over the years.  It's just that we would need to keep up with all these fresh young opponents.  Steve Blake has spirited energy and I admit, will surprise me every now and then for an outside shot  (oh the good old Maryland days), or a thoughtful pass, but for a perfect team, we need a stellar starting PG to help meld it all together.  For now, I am happy that Bynum is giving gusto and playing harder than previous years, Kobe is still Kobe, and looking forward to the rest of the (tough, but entertaining) season.  Is it just me or are there a gazillion back to back games now since they had a shorter schedule to work with?  Advantage for the younger squads out there.  And how about that Triple OT in Atlanta?!  Man, I love this game.

The NBA season is upon us, my friends!  Hoop-heads, where you at?

I can't wait to get this season started, though shorter, at least we have a season.  I've determined there are two things in my life I can't live without.  Basketball and music. Those are my two escapes from this world.  I can easily immerse myself in the moment and forget everything else in the world around me.

I'm still waiting to become a Lakers season ticket holder, coming up on my fourth year on the waitlist.  As a means to quench my basketball thirst, meanwhile, you are now looking at a Clippers season ticket holder.  For those who truly know me, know that I'm a Laker fan first, but the Clippers are also welcome in this household.  I love L.A., period.  I love basketball, period.  Despite all the hubbub about the lockout, and how much money gets thrown around in this, I'm an NBA fan, period.  I personally love watching games on my own, I feel I can concentrate better on the game and the commentary, though I do like company from time to time.  The 2011-12 season will be at the peak of NBA excitement and talent.

If you don't believe me, take Kobe's word for it.

Perhaps the BEST article I've read in a long time.  Sums up my frustrations about what went down the other day, too.  A must-read for all NBA fans >> http://www.grantland.com/story/_/id/7334835/the-sixth-day-nba-christmas

I found this video entertaining.  Why not throw in Mike Tyson's craziness and mix it in with Vince Carter throwing it down?

My heart skips a beat to:
That really good song that you can put on repeat without getting tired of it, the perfect swish from nothing but net, bright colors that scream attention which I don't like to bask in, cars that remind me of cartoons, the right sneakers for every occasion, the honest "I've-missed-you" look my dog gives me when I come home, a quick run in the dark imagining someone is chasing me, anything kawaiiiiii, frozen desserts of many fulfilling kinds, heroes or arch-nemeses, life ambitions and carpe diem actions, exercising brain power, exploring So Cal, and eating food that is yummy-yummy, in my tummy. Did I mention I'm a web-junkie? Long live internet!
