I know I'm going to pay for this later today but it doesn't matter. Every second of sleep I miss and replace with a second of viewing the Olympics is worth it! So Nastia showed us her grace and finished strong and Shawn was just as awesome. She did us proud on the floor routine! :)
On another note,I think it's interesting how the media spins everything in the positive light for the US. Despite the fact we still have less gold medals than China, they emphasize the fact that we have more overall medals. Majority are bronze. While I feel that any participation in the Olympics deserves kudos and recognition, I think the gold medals just weigh more. And we have plenty but still fall short of China. That's OK, I attribute it to home court advantage.
And Shawn is so cute I want to just pinch her cheeks and call her my little mushroom. Way to go! And I know it's just the way it is, but did you ever realize how many swimming events there are? I mean technically the US could rack up a load of swimming medals(thanks Michael) and we can dominate the number of medals. So much for home court advantage, at least we get swimmers' advantage. I can't wait for the track and field days. The fun goes on!
