iPad 1: suffered wifi connectivity issues. iPad 2: tacked on a camera (unfortunately low-res) for facetime capabilities and for friends to make fun of you when you snap pics in public w/ it. Aside from trivialities, the iPad is still amazing. I've never found something so user-friendly that the older generation can click away on it as happily as a 3-year old can.
the new iPad: better camera, crazy 2048 x 1536 display, 4GLTE for lightning speed. $629, $729, and $829 (16, 32, 64 w/ 4GLTE) Does this surprise you? Apple products never come with a small price-tag. The toughest critics are going to say, aww Apple disapponted them and that this isn't innovative enough for them. The lovers are going to eat up the features and are pre-ordering as we speak.
For those who already have the 1st or 2nd generation iPad, they might not be leaping off of buildings to buy one. At the same time, the ones who are eager to have the latest and greatest will be crashing the pre-orders like crazy. I'm just happy now that Apple is offering 4GLTE on the new iPad, this is promising. To me that translates to the iPhone with 4GLTE hopefully soon to follow suit? Saving my pennies for the "new" iPhone...one day.
Note: I also want to add that I'm not one of those people who only support Apple. I love competition. I like the rapid pace of technology and I believe in owning all types of products. I've owned iPhones and Droids in the past and have found great qualities in both.
